Inspiration Images
Purpose
This project was the first in my Commercial Photography class. I searched different websites for inspiration photos to recreate while improving upon. I chose Sunkist as my product to shoot because of the bright can color and the design on the can.

Target Audience
Unlike other orange soda brands, Sunkist has caffeine included in the drink and many consumers drink something that has caffeine to keep them going throughout the day. I wanted my images to want people to look at them and think “that looks refreshing, I want one”.

Problem Solving
My first concern when deciding what to shoot was that I have never photographed an aluminum can before. While I was setting up the lights in the studio, I had to move them around a lot to get the light to fall perfectly on the can as well as the glass. The main problems I ran into in the photograph outside was the shadows that were coming through the trees and I was in a tight space meaning I could only set up one flashpoint.

Commercial Photography
The equipment I used for the studio shot was a Canon EOS SL1, 55-250 mm lens, flashpoint, snoot, white flag, and a strip box. For the on location shot, I used an octobox, flashpoint and Sony ILCE-7RM2. I used Photoshop to touchup the in studio photo and Lightroom to change the color of the shirt and brighten the color of the can in the outdoor shot.
Lighting Setups
